Trinity

We believe in God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit... Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer... Lover, Beloved, the love in between... Three persons and one God...

The mystery of the Trinity is celebrated on the Sunday after Pentecost.

It is one of the rare Sundays when what is commemorated is not an event or a person but a Christian reality.

Symbols of the Trinity include St Patrick's trefoil, a triangle and the triquetra that looks like three interlocking fish shapes.

It is a clergy joke that Trinity Sunday is the day to ask the curate to preach. If even theologically trained clergy find it difficult to put the Trinity into words what can we use with children to express the reality of three persons and one God?
