About us

Sarah Douglas

Most of my children's ministry has been spent working as a volunteer in a small Anglican village church. This has involved creating and co-leading All Age Worship, special services and interactive prayer stations. I have also taken pre-school services and gone into a local school each week to do Godly Play and a lunchtime "Quiet Club". Currently, I organise a monthly children and families event "Footsteps" for those with little or no church connection. I am especially interested in All Age Worship, working in schools and working with those outside the church. I am married with three children and work part-time as a teacher. I blog at Meristem

I am a former teacher and now work part time as a Children and Young Families Minister at my local Anglican church in Cambridge. This involves co-ordinating Junior Church, leading a range of activities and services for toddlers, organising community outreach and creating and leading All Age Worship. In addition to this I lead Godly Play sessions in three local schools. I also work part-time for an educational charity and write for 'Roots', a lectionary-based resource. I have a particular interest in pre-schoolers, faith in the home and working in a school setting. I am married with two children.

I believe passionately that "Children's Ministry Matters." I was a primary school teacher but I am now working in Children's Ministry. I am experienced as a Godly Play Teacher for children and adults and in running Godly Play training. I also have experience of adult training, workshops, and more formal talks to Church Councils and Deaneries on Children's Ministry. I write worship and educational materials for both children and adults. I was a member of the Ely Diocesan Children's Council for 12 years and on Ely Diocesan Board of Education for nine years. I have an MA in Pastoral Theology with a dissertation on the use of play in Christian education and formation, and a Diploma in Theology. I am married with three children.
