What do children feel about being disabled, ill or going through a difficult time? How do they respond given time, materials and our support?
Children with health issues A child has health issues which mean that he is unable to function at his usual level. He has to rest during break and lunch times at school, and also misses some lessons. He has spoken of feeling socially isolated from his peers. The pressures of his illness and the effects of his medication have led him to say that sometimes it feels like "my soul is being broken in two". During a quiet moment he used the sand tray to produce this scene. Behind the wall and within the fortress lurks a single shiny shimmer stone. Beyond the wall a whole host of shimmer stones gather together. |
